The Brief
To mark one of the most important environmental events of the year, COP26 in Glasgow, WaterBear Network approached us to create an activation in the form of the iconic Scottish Legend 'Nessie' the Loch Ness Monster.

What We Did
We ideated and developed a series of initial design concepts that would help drive engagement through a variety of different structural shapes and 'skin' finishes. The installation needed to be sustainable in both its materiality and its construction, whilst having an impactful aesthetic that would drive content sharing and storytelling.
In partnership with circular denim brand MUD Jeans, artist Billie Achilleos, and our talented team of makers and creators - we designed and built 'Messy Nessie', a 5m long outdoor structure fabricated from over 800 pairs of used jeans.
A brief that really challenged the way we work and think when it comes to designing and producing sustainable events - not only through materials and processes, but with community and people too.
The Result
Installed in the heart of Central London, 'Messy Nessie' offered passers by an opportunity to learn more about climate solutions, through the power of storytelling - driving sign ups to WaterBear's platform and promoting the concept of circularity.
